In Miami the airport, the hotels and the cruise port sit close together. Miami International (MIA) is just west of the city's neighborhoods. PortMiami is on Dodge Island, off downtown. Downtown and Brickell hotels sit between the two. That is why so many Miami trips run MIA to a hotel, then the hotel to PortMiami, or straight from the plane to the ship on the Miami Airport to Port of Miami route.
