Pompano Beach sits just north of Fort Lauderdale, so FLL is the nearest major airport and the usual pick. MIA is further south, past Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood; some international flights and cruise packages make it worth the longer ride. PBI, to the north, is the third choice. From the pier blocks to the homes across I-95.

Most visitor pickups are on the beach side: hotels and condos along North Ocean Boulevard (A1A), the blocks around the Fisher Family Pier and Pompano Beach Fishing Village, and Atlantic Boulevard as it runs to the sand. Inland, Ace picks up at homes and communities on both sides of I-95.

A resort or condo with a covered drive usually takes a van or minibus right at the door. A full coach may need to load at the street, so tell dispatch the building and how many travel.

Cruise days from Pompano Beach

Port Everglades, in Fort Lauderdale, is the nearer cruise port. Ships from PortMiami need the longer ride through Broward and north Miami-Dade. Plan from your boarding window, which your cruise line sets, not from the sailing time; dispatch works back from that window and allows for I-95 on a weekend morning.

Tri-Rail has a Pompano Beach station, but neither Tri-Rail nor Brightline stops at a cruise terminal, so travelers with bags still need a ride for the last leg.
