Airboat parks at the edge of the Everglades

Two airboat parks, a short drive west.

Two airboat parks sit on the western edge of Broward County, a short drive inland from Fort Lauderdale. Everglades Holiday Park is off Griffin Road, and Sawgrass Recreation Park is on US-27 in Weston. Groups book a coach to either one, and the driver waits in the lot while the group is out on the water.

Ace drives; the park runs the airboat. Rides, tickets and group bookings are arranged with the park. For the full airboat day with a hotel pickup, see Everglades Tour from Fort Lauderdale.

Shopping days at Sawgrass Mills and Dolphin Mall

Drop at the door, room for the bags home.

Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise and Dolphin Mall in Miami are the two big outlet malls groups ask for. A coach drops the group at the entrance, waits while everyone shops and has room underneath for the bags on the way home.

Set a meeting time and a meeting door before the group splits up, and put the group leader's cell number on everyone's phone. Sawgrass Mills Shuttle covers that mall in more detail; Dolphin Mall runs the same way from the coach side.

The Jungle Queen and boat charters at the marinas

Illustration of a wide calm river in Fort Lauderdale lined with palms, waterfront homes and private docks, a plain white tour boat tied at a wooden landingCoach to the dock, coach back when the boat ties up.

Fort Lauderdale lives on its water, and many group days include a boat. The Jungle Queen Riverboat sails from Fort Lauderdale; check its website for the current boarding dock before the trip. Private boat charters leave from marinas across Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties.

Ace handles the ground side: the coach collects the group at the hotel, school, church or office, drops everyone at the dock, and is back for the return when the boat ties up. Give dispatch the boarding time and the marina address, and the pickup is set from there.

Boat times are fixed and boats do not wait. Build in time for traffic and parking near the waterfront, especially on weekends and during the boat shows.

How a group day trip runs

One plan, several stops, the same driver all day.

A day trip can be one destination or several. A common pattern is a morning activity, lunch at a restaurant, and an afternoon stop before the ride home. The driver follows the plan in the quote and waits at each stop.

Name one group leader with a cell phone. Dispatch and the driver work through that person, who also counts heads at each stop before the coach moves on. If the group wants to stay longer somewhere, the leader calls dispatch, which answers 24/7, and the rest of the day is adjusted.

Museums, restaurants and parks

Illustration of a palm-thatched picnic shelter with long wooden tables beside a lake in a South Florida park, banyan trees and mowed grassYou book the venue; Ace gets the group there.

Not every group wants an airboat or a mall. Museums in Fort Lauderdale and Miami suit school groups, adult education classes and senior communities. Restaurants with a private room suit a company lunch or a club outing. Parks with picnic shelters, lakes and trails suit church groups, youth groups and family reunions.

Book the venue yourself, then send dispatch the address, the arrival time and how long the group stays. Ace's own tours cover some of these days end to end: Flamingo Gardens Tours, Miami City Tour and Swap Shop Tours. For a long day farther away, see Orlando Day Trip from Miami or Key West Day Trip from Miami.

Price, tickets and paperwork

Ace quotes the ride; venues sell the tickets.

Every day trip is quoted on its own details: the date, the pickup point, the stops, the hours the coach is needed and the size of the group. A Sprinter van with a driver suits a small group, a minibus seats 15 to 20 and a full size motorcoach seats 56.

Ace is not affiliated with any park, mall, riverboat, venue or attraction named on this page. Tickets and admission are bought from them, never from Ace.

Group Day Trips: common questions

Something else on your mind? Call (954) 250-6667.

Can we visit more than one place in a day?

Yes. List every stop and the time at each when you ask for a quote, and the driver follows that plan.

Does the coach wait while we are at each stop?

Yes, when the quote includes waiting time. The driver stays with the coach and your things until the group returns.

Do you sell tickets for the airboat parks, the malls or the Jungle Queen?

No. Ace is not affiliated with those places. Tickets and admission are bought from them; Ace provides the coach and driver.

Can we start the day trip from Miami or Palm Beach County?

Yes. Pickups run anywhere from Port St. Lucie to Key West, and the quote reflects the longer drive.

What size group can you take?

From a small party in a Sprinter van to a full size motorcoach for 56, and several coaches for a bigger group.

How far ahead should we book a group day trip?

As soon as the date is set. Booking early gives the most choice of vehicles and pickup times.
