Yes, a few Miami hotels run a free shuttle to PortMiami, but almost all of them are by Miami International Airport, and the free ride is one way only. As of October 2026, we found nine hotels whose own websites describe a ride to the Port of Miami: three near MIA offer a complimentary morning run to the port, two include it in a cruise package, and four charge a fee. Check with the hotel before you book. If the hotel ride does not cover your group, your bags or the trip back, Ace Tours Inc runs a Miami cruise port shuttle from any hotel, home or airport.
Where this list comes from
We read each hotel's official page, on its brand site or the hotel's own domain, in October 2026. A hotel made the list only if that page describes a ride to PortMiami for its guests. Travel blogs and booking sites were used to find candidates, never as proof.
Several well known hotels were left out on purpose: those whose pages say an outside company operates the ride, those whose package pages carry no date, and those whose pages we could not read. We also left fee amounts out, because hotels change them. Ask for the current fee when you call.

Is there a free shuttle to the Port of Miami?
No free public shuttle runs to the Port of Miami; the only free rides we found are hotel perks for guests. They are morning runs from hotels near MIA to the cruise terminals, and they are one way. Getting back after the cruise is up to you, and the hotels that mention a return describe it as a paid ride booked separately.
Seats are limited on most of these runs. Several hotels say first come, first served, and that the ride is not guaranteed once it is full. On a morning when many guests sail, a late registration can leave you looking for another ride.
Questions to ask the front desk
Call the hotel itself rather than central reservations, and keep a note of who you spoke to.
- Is the shuttle still running on my sailing date?
- What time does it leave, and how do I reserve a seat?
- Is it free, and if not, what is the fee per person?
- Does the hotel run it, or an outside service?
- How many bags per person can I bring?
- Is there a ride back from the port, and how is it booked?
Airport hotel, downtown or Brickell: which area works for a cruise
Hotels by MIA suit travelers who fly in the night before. They usually run an airport shuttle, and the few with a port run let you go hotel to ship without arranging anything else. The trade-off is that the neighborhood is built around the airport, not around things to do.
Downtown Miami and Brickell sit much closer to Dodge Island, where PortMiami is. They suit travelers who want a dinner out and a walk by the bay before sailing. Port rides from these hotels are mostly paid or part of a package, so a booked ride is often the simplest plan.
Miami Beach hotels are a popular choice too. None made our list, so plan a separate ride from the beach to the port if you stay there.
When a booked transfer makes more sense
Hotel shuttles are built for a couple or a small family. A private or group ride is the better fit when:
- Your party is larger than one shuttle run can seat.
- Your group is booked across two or more hotels.
- You carry more luggage than a hotel van usually takes.
- Your boarding window is earlier or later than the hotel's departure.
- You flew into FLL and need the ride south to PortMiami.
- You want the return from the pier settled before you sail.
How Ace handles PortMiami rides
Ace runs shared and private rides to PortMiami from Miami, Miami Beach, Brickell and airport hotels, from homes, and from MIA and FLL. Small parties ride in a Sprinter van with a driver. Groups get a minibus for 15 to 20 people or a full size motorcoach for 56, and very large groups are covered by Ace's partner-fleet capacity of 40+ vehicles.
Every trip is quoted before you book. Send the date, the hotel, the number of travelers and the number of bags. Dispatch answers 24/7 in English, Spanish and Portuguese at (954) 250-6667 or [email protected].
